About AGS
The Alabama Gastroenterological Society (AGS) is a professional organization dedicated to promoting the advancement of gastroenterology and digestive health in Alabama. AGS serves as a platform for gastroenterologists and other healthcare professionals to exchange ideas and knowledge and to collaborate on initiatives aimed at improving patient care and outcomes.
The society also works to increase public awareness of digestive health issues and to advocate for policies that support the field of gastroenterology. Through its programs, events, and resources, AGS is committed to advancing the practice of gastroenterology and ensuring the best possible care for patients with digestive health conditions.
AGS currently has over 100 members and is very active hosting an Annual Conference as well as
2 Journal Clubs each year. The Annual Conferences are well attended by Physicians and Mid-
Level providers and hosts world class speakers.
The Alabama Gastroenterological Society was organized in July 2012 with the mission to
advance the medical treatment and scientific study of gastrointestinal disorders.
Our Purpose

To further the knowledge and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases through the use of endoscopic instruments while promoting high standards of gastrointestinal care and continuing education.

Board Members
The Alabama Gastroenterological Society's Board of Directors is made up of elected professionals who lead the organization and promote gastroenterology and digestive health. They set policies, oversee operations, and ensure alignment with the society's mission. They also serve as ambassadors for the society.
Officers
The Alabama Gastroenterological Society has a strong leadership structure with elected officers including a president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer. These officers work together to guide the organization and make strategic decisions. The AGS also has committees and working groups focused on specific areas of gastroenterology.
